Air Commodore Brothers (then Squadron Leader Brothers) was Officer Commanding 57 Squadron during Avro Lincoln operations in Malaya. Effectively simply a development of the venerable Lancaster, the Lincoln was a ‘stop-gap’ aircraft for the RAF pending the arrival of the new jet-powered bombers. However, the Lincoln (and 57 Squadron) proved very effective in the Malaya Campaign. In 1997, Peter took part in an interview, where some thoughts about his time in the RAF from 1940 through to command of 57 Squadron and operations in Malaya from 1950-51, were recorded for posterity.
