Initially serving as a technician, Geoff re-mustered as aircrew in 1942, initially as a trainee pilot before being re-selected as a bomb aimer. He joined 57 Squadron at RAF East Kirkby in September 1943, before joining 97 Squadron (and the Pathfinder Force) in May 1944.  In 2006, Geoff took part in an interview, where some thoughts about his time in the RAF were recorded for posterity. This recording begins with a raid on Hanover and moves on to recount the successful use of Oboe beams by Pathfinders during a raid on Hagen.  Geoff reflects on the problems crews faced locating targets and the introduction of the H2S radar.  The interview can be heard by clicking here
