It is with great sadness that the Association has learned of the passing of Roy Nash after a lengthy period of illness.

Roy served on 57 Squadron at RAF Waddington in 1951-2 as a Wireless Mechanic, working first on the Lincoln and then the Washington. After National Service he worked in management in the furniture business. Members will especially remember Roy’s comedic and musical contributions during our Reunions for many years and for his stalwart support to the Association. He displayed the same passion for entertaining within his local community where he volunteered with many organisations. We have sent Jean and the Nash family the Association’s deepest condolences.

I will always have wonderful memories of Roy entertaining us at many Association Reunions, and of the fascinating talk he gave at one of the Dining-In Nights with 57 Squadron that Association Members were invited to.

A warm, charming man, whose service with 57 Squadron came at a pivotal point in history for the RAF.  He will be missed.
