On the night of  10 April 1945, 630 Squadron Lancaster RF-122 (LE-S) was shot down while on a raid against the Wahren railyards in Leipzig.

Flying Officer               R J Sassoon               Pilot

Sergeant                        S C Walton                Flight Engineer

    Flying Officer               J Hopwood               Navigator

Flying Officer               P F Fleming              Bomb Aimer (taken POW)

Flight Sergeant            M S Munro               Wireless Operator

    Sergeant                        W H R Jenkins        Mid-upper Gunner

Flight Sergeant            I S Lynn                     Rear Gunner (taken POW)

Relatives of the pilot, Flying Officer Richard Sassoon, have recently contacted the Association and would be pleased to hear from any relatives of any of the other crew members on this fateful mission.
