Joining-up on his 18th birthday, Eric served as a flight engineer with 57 Squadron from April 1943 until the end of WWII, including a second tour of operations.  In 2001, Eric took part in an interview, where some thoughts about his time in the RAF were recorded for posterity.  This recording begins with operations over Berlin, Turin and Leipzig and moves on to cover his second tour with 57 Squadron including daylight raids on France, mine-laying on the Stettin Canal, and raids against Bordeaux, Bergen, Munich and Berchtesgaden.  The interview can be heard by simply clicking here
