Kevin Richardson has contacted the Association about his grandfather Flight Lieutenant John Mayne Phillips.  Although qualified as a pilot, John served as an engineering officer with 57 Squadron at East Kirkby because he was too old to fly.  While there he was awarded the MBE, although the reason is unknown, and he also met his future wife – Agnes Edith Richardson who served in the WAAF (Service number 2013205).  Kevin has forwarded some photos of his grandfather and his grandmother.

Does anyone remember John Phillips or Agnes Richardson?  Do you know the name the Air Marshal pictured presenting John with his MBE?  If you have any information, please send it to me and I will forward it to Kevin and his family.
